Prior to Girls Aloud, Kimberley attended the Bradford-based theatre school Stage 84 and appeared in various adverts and productions including the Les Miserables in the West End and ITV’s The Book Tower.  

In 2009, she is following in the footsteps of Alexa Chung and Lily Allen to model for UK store, New Look.

In October 2009, Kimberley announced her role as ambassador for Breast Cancer Haven. "I'm proud to support Breast Cancer Haven. I saw how they helped my friend and dance teacher, Deana Morgan, when she had breast cancer and want other people affected by this illness to know about this wonderful charity where they can turn to for free help and support."
